TAMPA, FL (October 2, 2023) – Along with revealing the first look at the bright yellow Tesla vehicles that will offer low-cost rides between hubs in Tampa’s Downtown, the Tampa Downtown Partnership is announcing the hours and pricing for its upcoming shared ride service, DASH.

“We wanted to make sure this new way to get around Downtown is just as distinctive as the other transportation options it’ll be joining. When you think about the streetcar with its classic look, or a colorful e-bike or scooter, or the swords on the side of the Pirate Water Taxi, we know DASH’s bright yellow Teslas will be a great addition,” said Shaun Drinkard, Interim President of the Tampa Downtown Partnership.
Hours
When DASH (Downtown Area Shared Hubs) launches in mid-October, passengers will be able to use an app to catch a ride on Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. The wide-ranging hours are designed to serve the wide range of people who live, work, and play in Downtown Tampa.
Pricing
Trips will be priced at $2 per person, offering significant savings over other transportation options. Professional “driver-ambassadors” in all-electric Tesla Model Y vehicles will take passengers between more than 20 hub locations throughout Downtown. The app will pair up to four passengers to share each hub-to-hub trip.
Hiring Additional Driver-Ambassadors
A limited number of driver-ambassador positions are still available. These outgoing professionals will receive extensive safety and driving training, along with training as an expert guide to Downtown’s seven unique neighborhoods. Job applicants can apply for one of the remaining positions at tampasdowntown.com.
As with any brand new service, operational details may change as the system is rolled out. Passengers who need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle will be able to request an ADA-compliant van using the app.
The launch date for the DASH service will be announced soon.
