Considering bike commuting? Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority (TBARTA) offers a “Bike Buddy” program to connect cyclists with similar routes. They back it up with an Emergency Ride Home for peace of mind on a car-free day.
Bike Friendly Tampa
Bicycle Friendly Business is a certification program for companies that demonstrate commitment to promoting and supporting cycling. This national program is administered through the League of American Cyclists and brought to you by Tampa Downtown Partnership, the City of Tampa, Florida Department of Transportation, and Pedal Power Promoters. View the full list of companies that completed the certification. Many offer incentives to customers who arrive on bike! The City of Tampa has been recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Community. Tampa is #1 in the state and Top 10 nationally!
Downtown Bike Routes, Trails, and Bicycle Shops
In 2016, the City of Tampa was nationally recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Community. It was ranked one of the Top 50 Best Biking Cities by Bicycling Magazine. Further, PeopleForBikes named the Cass St. Green Spine separated path among the 10 best new bike lanes in the nation.

Be sure to lock your bike and always wear a helmet. All buses and trolleys are equipped to carry along 2 bikes.

Coast Bikeshare Program
Just use a bike when you need one. There are 300 bikes scattered among 30 hubs available with a daily, monthly or annual membership.
