Caribbean concept Sal Rosa to replace Bizou Brasserie in Downtown Tampa’s Le Méridien hotel

Sal Rosa Kitchen + Bar—located at 601 N Florida Ave. in the heart of Downtown Tampa—will be the signature restaurant of the historic Le Méridien boutique hotel, also known as “The Courthouse,” after its grand opening sometime this fall.

 

The hotel says its new restaurant will “feature a mix of Island Latin cuisine and Caribbean themed cocktails.” According to Le Méridien’s website, the restaurant will also have an on-site cafe and dessert shop that will serve a variety of specialty drinks from Illy Coffee, gelatos and pastries.

Newbond acquires Aloft Tampa Downtown

Newbond Holdings has acquired the Aloft Tampa Downtown. This transaction marks the company’s third hotel investment on the Downtown Tampa riverfront in the last 24 months, totaling more than 700 hotel rooms and more than 800 ft. of frontage on the Hillsborough River.

 

Located on the Riverwalk, the 130-key hotel offers indoor and outdoor amenity space, including a waterfront pool and gym, corporate meeting and event space, and a bar and lounge. Newbond is planning a comprehensive hotel renovation to include all guestrooms, public areas and the pool deck.

Help Numerous Community Non-Profits By Dining At Any Columbia-Affiliated Restaurant In September

Support local non-profits just by dining in September at any of the locations of the 1905 Family Of Restaurants. That includes all seven locations of the Columbia Restaurant but also Cha Cha Coconuts, Ulele, Goody Goody and Casa Santo Stefano.

 

Through its month-long Community Harvest program, now in its 26th year, the company donates 5 percent of all diners’ checks to charities selected by the guests.

 

Over the last 25 years, this program provided almost $3.5 million to non-profit organizations throughout Florida.

Tampa’s biggest urban arts and crafts festival arrives at Perry Harvey Sr. Park

The Arts and Crafts Festival is free to attend. It will include a local hand makers park, youth art, plus a full art park. This will be a wonderful fusion of Florida artists, fine handmade crafters, and chef-inspired food trucks.

 

This festival will run from 11am-5pm on Saturday, October 28, and 11am-4pm on Sunday, October 29.

 

Spots are available now for vendors, and those interested in participating can apply online. This is a family-friendly, and pet-friendly event.
