We’re incredibly excited to continue one of our favorite Downtown traditions! Beginning on Thursday and continuing throughout the month of May, “What’s Pop-In” will return to Tampa’s Downtown!
The purpose of this program is to pop-up throughout Downtown’s seven neighborhoods and distribute feedback surveys! We want to hear from YOU about how to best serve Tampa’s Downtown. We can’t wait to hear from all of you!
Last week, Water Street Tampa revealed their expansion plans which include three new projects as a part of the neighborhood’s ongoing development. These expansion plans include the construction of a condo building, an office tower, and “an entertainment destination”. The plans also prioritize implementing additional parking for the area as well.

Rachel Radawec, Director of Public Space Operations & Programming at the Tampa Downtown Partnership, gave a terrific presentation on place management at last week’s International Downtown Association (IDA) Conference.
Rachel discussed the realm of place management, and expounded on the choice of establishing in-house ambassador programs or contracting out those services. The discussion pondered which of these methods best influences the effectiveness of public space initiatives such as vibrancy enhancement and safety.
At the Tampa Downtown Partnership, we pride ourselves as being a fountain of vital information for not only IDA organizations but communities at large. Congratulations Rachel!
In May of 1865, the remainder of the enslaved population in Florida was liberated after being read Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. To honor this monumental moment in history, the Tampa Bay History Center will be holding an event tonight in remembrance of Florida’s enslaved population.
Head to the St. James at ENCORE! tonight from 5:30pm – 7:30pm to enjoy FREE music, food, and a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation by notable Black speakers!
