Downtown's Amalie Arena will hold the 2023 Division I NCAA Volleyball Championship

Calling all fans of collegiate athletics! Head out to Amalie Arena this Thursday and Sunday, December 14 and 17 to join hundreds of volleyball fans from across the country to watch the nation’s top teams compete for the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship.

Join us for back-to-back neighborhood programming this week! This Thursday from 2:30pm – 5:30pm we’ll be holding our monthly Downtown Core Backyard Market in Poe Plaza. The very next day, we’re eager to host Keys in the Park: A Melodic Duel, servicing the Downtown River Arts neighborhood from 5:30pm – 7:30pm!

Every year, Downtown’s holiday epicenter hosts a FREE screening of a festive film. This Saturday at 7:00pm, we’re excited to bring the iconic movie “Elf” back to the big screen with the help of the Tampa Theatre. Grab a buddy or just yourself and come to Curtis Hixon Park this weekend for hours of laughs!

Vinik Family Foundation donates $1.5M to support the Florida Aquarium's major expansion

The Florida Aquarium, in Tampa’s Downtown, received a $1.5 million donation from the Vinik Family Foundation. This donation goes toward a two-story puffin exhibit that is a part of the aquarium’s $45 million expansion. This impactful investment will aid the aquarium’s conservation efforts as puffins, a species of Atlantic seabird, are listed as threatened.
