Tampa Bay Lightning kick off the playoffs with a banner drop and giveaways in Tampa's Downtown

The Tampa Bay Lightning will be celebrating the beginning of the playoffs by dropping a banner at City Hall and giving away swag from 12-1pm.

Sweet Mama's Ice Cream set to open brick-and-mortar location Wednesday!

Sweet Mama’s Ice Cream will open at 905 N.Tampa Street this Wednesday! In celebration of Akwi and the journey of bringing Sweet Mama’s from a food truck to The Square at Lykes Gaslight Park to now its brick-and-mortar location, we will be providing the first 100 people a free regular cone with one topping this Friday!

Will Tampa’s historic Floridan Palace Hotel get a new name?

The new owner of the Floridan Palace Hotel — South Florida investment firm 1754 Properties — filed an application last month for a historic preservation tax exemption that details some of the renovations to come when they bought the property in 2021, city records show.

 

And one of the biggest changes? Renaming the nearly century-old landmark to Hotel Flor.

Winter Village Tampa vendor applications are now open!

Calling all small business owners! The application for the 2023 Shops of Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park is now open. These pop-up shops are an excellent way for makers and entrepreneurs to be a part of Tampa’s Downtown retail market. Applications are due on May 31.
