Tampa's Downtown ranks sixth in the most recent Downtown Vitality Index!

According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, Tampa’s Downtown has remained a vital asset to the city of Tampa as a whole, which has proven difficult to do in a post-pandemic era for a plethora of cities.

According to the most recent Downtown Vitality Index from The Business Journals, Tampa’s Vitality Index score is 63.50, ranking Tampa sixth among the 44 markets analyzed.

The score is based on a weighted formula that measures vitality based upon the following factors:

  • Downtown office commercial real-estate trends
  • Urban/central business district hotel occupancy
  • Percentage of individuals working from home
  • Downtown cellphone activity compared to pre-pandemic levels
  • Public-transit ridership trends
  • Metro population growth momentum

Did you know that the City of Tampa has rolled out new e-bike and e-scooter regulations?

If you or someone you know currently rides or wishes to ride one of Downtown’s e-bikes or e-scooters, take note of the city’s new e-transportation parking rules.

Starting today, e-transportation devices will need to be parked in designated areas, or e-riders could face fines. If you’re an e-rider, you will be able to find parking corrals on your e-scooter or e-bike’s company app. Most of these corrals are marked by paint on the sidewalk, while some are metal docking stations.
