Patel Conservatory presents The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
Shows Thursday through Sunday
Straz Center for the Performing Arts
Students in grades 2 through 12 take on the roles of the Herdman kids – the worst kids in the history of the world. They lie, steal, smoke cigars, swear and hit little kids. In this stage production of the famous children’s book, follow the Herdmans as they take over the annual Christmas pageant to create a shocking, chaotic evening somewhat similar to the night that inspired it. Tampa’s Tree Lighting Ceremony 2018

Enjoy a beautiful evening along the river at Tampa’s top tree lighting ceremony. The evening will include a countdown to light the tree with Mayor Buckhorn and a free movie in the park. Tampa Theatre Outdoor Holiday Classics – The Santa Clause

Tampa Theatre will build on the success of last year’s Holiday Classics film series in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park by returning to the park this yuletide season, thanks to a new presenting sponsor, the F.E. Lykes Foundation. Bringing its massive 40-foot screen and high-intensity projector back to the Great Lawn, Tampa Theatre will present The Santa Clause. This screening will take place after Tampa’s Tree Lighting Ceremony, presented by Friends of Tampa Recreation. The event is free and open to the public. A Christmas Story (1983)

Tampa Mayoral Candidate Forum: Presented by Walk Bike Tampa
Tuesday, December 11
Sparkman Wharf
Walk Bike Tampa, Inc hosts an evening with the mayoral candidates to discuss pedestrian and bike safety, creating walkable spaces, neighborhood sidewalks, and the downtown urban core. Ernest Hooper from the Tampa Bay Times will moderate. Partner organizations including Tampa General Hospital, Sidewalk Stompers, and other local businesses will develop questions related to community health benefits of active transportation, safe routes to school, bicycling conditions, and the business case for locating in walkable areas. Tampa Mayoral Candidate Forum
