Speakers in this series include Jennifer L. Burton, UT assistant professor of marketing; Jeffery Fasick, UT assistant professor of biology; John Capouya, UT associate professor of journalism; Lorie Fridell, professor in the Department of Criminology at the University of South Florida; Alisha Menzies, UT assistant professor of communication; and Saul Cornell, a leading authority on early American constitutional thought and the Second Amendment.

All lectures are free, open to the public and held on the UT campus. See below for a full schedule:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 25, noon. Trustees Boardroom, Vaughn Center, “The Role of Affect and Cognitions on the Relationship Between Ad Frequency and Purchase Intentions,” Jennifer L. Burton, UT assistant professor of marketing.
  • Tuesday Oct. 2, 4 p.m. Crescent Club, Vaughn Center, “The Urban Whale,” Jeffery Fasick, UT assistant professor of biology.
  • Monday, Oct. 8, 4 p.m. Trustees Boardroom, Vaughn Center, “Black Music Mattered,” John Capouya, UT associate professor of journalism, and Suzanne Williamson, photographer and installation artist.
  • Thursday, Oct. 25, 6 p.m. Grand Salon, Plant Hall, “Implicit Bias and Policing,” Lorie Fridell, a faculty member in the Department of Criminology at the University of South Florida.
  • Friday, Nov. 30, 8 p.m. Trustees Boardroom, Vaughn Center, “History of the Second Amendment,” Saul Cornell, the Paul and Diane Guenther Chair in American History at Fordham University and a leading authority on early American constitutional thought and the Second Amendment.
