Free Fitness in the Park Classes as Fall Arrives in Downtown Tampa

As the weather cools off, something special is heating up in Downtown Tampa. Five days a week you can now join a fitness class with the Downtown Skyline as your beautiful backdrop. Choose Zumba, Pilates, Dance, HIIT, or Yoga – all for free!

 

Experienced instructors will stretch and sweat with you as sunset approaches in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park (600 N. Ashley Drive, Tampa, FL 33602). The fun, free classes are offered on Sundays–Thursdays from 6–7 pm.

Five-star luxury hits Tampa as Edition hotel makes a splashy debut

Water Street Tampa’s upscale hotel brought celebrity VIPs to welcome a new era of high-end hospitality to the city including a kick-off party featuring a-list musician, Lenny Kravitz.

 

The whole Edition experience is, in legendary hotelier Ian Schrager’s words, “something that’s never been done” here. “Having a lot of familiarity with Florida, I think this is Tampa’s time.”

Cross-Bay Ferry between Tampa's Downtown and St. Petersburg returns

The Cross-Bay Ferry began its sixth season of operations across Tampa Bay on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022. The service, which provides a scenic and congestion-free transportation option between Downtown Tampa and Downtown St. Petersburg, returned following its most successful season since the service began, with a record-breaking 62,130 riders from October 2021 to May 2022, and 10,000 more people than its previous record.

Tampa's former mayor Bob Buckhorn has words of wisdom for Nashville

Tampa’s former mayor delivered a sermon on the virtues of having a modern, attractive Downtown waterfront to an audience of 1,000 Nashville business and community leaders listening for the secrets to Riverwalk’s success. The keynote speech was held at the Nashville Downtown Partnership’s 28th annual meeting last week.

 

“Many of us turned our back on rivers for decades. Tampa did,” Buckhorn said. “Your waterfront is the best asset you have. I’m excited about what’s to come. We all know what’s going to happen: Opportunity.”
