Opinion: It makes good economic sense to extend the Riverwalk

Roger Germann, the president and CEO of The Florida Aquarium, shared a case for investing and extending the Tampa Riverwalk. “As the city, county and state spend millions to attract tourists, businesses and new residents, the Riverwalk remains a top selling point.”

University of Tampa students to move in this week

UT Students – Welcome to Tampa’s Downtown! University of Tampa students will move into their residence halls from Wednesday, August 24 to Friday, August 26. Wednesday will be the busiest day, with more than 2,000 students will be checking in and moving their belongings into their rooms in one of 11 residence halls on campus.

 

Effort to save Tampa’s historic Jackson House stalled

Plans to restore the historic Jackson House may have stalled, according to a recent Tampa Bay Times article. “The restoration effort requires the owner of neighboring properties to provide 2,100 square feet of their land to the foundation. This would create a city-required 10-foot buffer between the property boundaries to the east and west sides.”
