Tampa Museum of Art’s exhibition showcases prolific Black photographers

Organized by the Grand Rapids Art Museum, the exhibition “Dawoud Bey & Carrie Mae Weems: In Dialogue” showcases more than 120 photographs, as well as video, from two prolific photographers. While they work independently, their work addresses common themes of race, class and representation and the experiences of Black Americans.

 

“Dawoud Bey & Carrie Mae Weems: In Dialogue” is on view through Oct. 23.

Stop signs replace street lights in busy pedestrian area of Tampa's Downtown

More people now live, work and play in Downtown Tampa than ever before, and Franklin Street, with its single lanes in each direction, charming brick surface and tree-lined sidewalks, has become a favored route for pedestrians.

 

For mobility experts, switching from a traffic signal to a four-way stop at the intersection adjacent to the Tampa Theatre and several popular restaurants just made sense.

The Mav brings a sky deck, rooftop pool lounge to Downtown Tampa

The 19-story tower includes 324 apartments, including studios, one, and two-bedroom floor plans. The property also features a 19th floor sky deck and lounge with unobstructed views of the Downtown skyline and Tampa Bay region, a pool deck and an expansive fitness studio. The Mav will be ready to welcome residents in October 2022.
