ICYMI: Tampa to receive $24 million federal grant for Riverwalk expansion

The City of Tampa announced last week that a federal transportation grant was secured for $24 million. The money will pay for approximately 12 miles of contiguous multi-modal paths separated from vehicle traffic, with complete streets and traffic calming improvements. The project will connect Downtown Tampa, the University of Tampa, West Tampa, Tampa Heights, Bayshore, Hyde Park and Ybor City with the multi-modal paths, complete streets, and under bridge/over water segments, install new pavement, guard rails, lighting and landscaping and repair seawalls.

New upscale fast food restaurant Nojaks heads to Downtown Tampa

Located on E Polk Street, Nojak Tasty Foods will offer fast and fresh food options that cater to a late night crowd. “Our dream is to create a fast food restaurant with a focus on delivering more value per meal. We will offer delicious burgers alongside local vegetables —all at a great price,” owner Wesley Rodrick.

 

Nojaks Tasty Foods was a recent recipient of the Tampa Downtown Partnership’s Storefront and Sidewalk Cafe Grant.

Partnership staff member Kacie Blucher promoted to Director of Business Administration

In her role, Kacie manages all accounting operations of the Partnership, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and compliance. She is responsible for the production and presentation of periodic financial reports, maintenance of the accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets to enhance the accuracy of the Partnership’s reported financial results. In addition to financial duties, Kacie is the point of contact for Human Resources and manages employee onboarding, training, compliance and benefits.
