Digital Downtown Debriefing featuring Judy Lisi of The Straz Center for the Performing Arts set for this Thursday

Join us October 22nd for our Digital Downtown Debriefing, as we speak with Judy Lisi, President/CEO of the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. The Straz Center, one of the largest performing arts centers in the nation, has been closed to public performances since March 13 due to state-wide event venue safety regulations concerning COVID-19. Judy, along with members of the Straz Center team, will present an overview of the performing arts center’s strategy to reopen, as well as an update on surrounding streets and a growing Riverwalk that is just adjacent to the center.

Tampa's Downtown puts a spell on you with new Halloween themed photo contest

Spooky season is upon us and a new photo-op in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park has popped up right in time to get you in the Halloween spirit. For the next two weeks, residents can enter to win cool, downtown-themed swag from the Partnership by taking a photo at the photo-op and following three simple steps.

Partnership Director of Transportation and Planning, Karen Kress, speaks about the autonomous shuttle in Tampa's Downtown

Karen Kress spoke with the crew from AM Tampa Bay about the first autonomous transit vehicle tested on public roads in Florida. The goal for the pilot program, which began October 12, is to make it easier for people to move around Downtown Tampa while also getting a sense of what kind of role driverless cars and buses could play here in the future.

NCAA selects Tampa to host four signature Division I events

Tampa has been selected as the host site of four major NCAA Championships, which includes the 2023 Division I Men’s Frozen Four, 2023 Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship, 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Final Four and 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds.

 

In 2023, Tampa’s Downtown will have the unique opportunity to host the Men’s Frozen Four and Women’s Volleyball Championship in the same calendar year, both at Amalie Arena.
