Tampa's Downtown welcomes the International Downtown Association (IDA) 67th Annual Conference and Marketplace this week

The Tampa Downtown Partnership proudly welcomes place management professionals from across the globe to Tampa’s Downtown this week.

 

“I think it is going to be one of the most profound leadership gatherings for our industry in decades,” said David Downey, president and CEO of the International Downtown Association.

Sweet Mama's Ice Cream is now open at The Square in Lykes Gasligtht Park

Sweet Mama’s Ice Cream is now open at The Square. Owned by Akwi Njoh and business partner Jahkeal Samuel, Sweet Mama’s offers soft-serve ice cream, baked goods, and other treats and is open daily. Sweet Mama’s new location is the start of the project’s next phase as the Tampa Downtown Partnership and the city of Tampa collaborate to improve Lykes Gaslight Park.

Tampa approves Straz Center's $25 million ask for waterfront redevelopment

The David A. Straz Jr. Center for Performing Arts will receive $25 million in city funding for the redevelopment of its waterfront property.

 

Tampa City Council members, acting as the board for the downtown Community Redevelopment Agency, on Thursday voted in favor of doling out $25 million in CRA money to fund a portion of the Straz’s $80 million redevelopment, which includes things like expanded events and outdoor space and a public rooftop terrace open year-round with seating and a full bar.
