New report highlights Selmon Expressway's economic impact

The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority has generated $1.6 billion in Gross Domestic Product and 15,000 jobs since its formation in 1975, according to an updated report from the University of South Florida’s Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR). Those numbers are up from $1.2 billion and 13,000 since the report was last completed in 2016.

After a year of hard work, Meacham Urban Farm in Downtown Tampa is thriving

Urban Excellence Awards Finalist, Meacham Urban Farms, celebrated its first year located next to the ENCORE! development in Tampa’s Downtown. Since February of last year, the farm grew more than 60,000 pounds of produce.

Latest numbers suggest Cross Bay Ferry has almost recovered from the pandemic

With a new federal grant in tow, the Cross Bay Ferry is staring down a promising future set to include a new boat, year-round service, and a long-awaited connection between South Hillsborough County and the MacDill Air Force Base. Overall revenue this year stands at $309,515, in line with projected revenues of $309,400. The standard round-trip adult fare is $20.

February’s Fourth Friday is this week! Check out the event website for venue specials, live performances, and more. Due to the Gasparilla Music Festival, the “Information Hub” will be located at the Tampa Riverwalk entrance of the Straz Center, featuring DJ Ekin.
