Forbes reported that Tampa and St. Petersburg had the highest average hotel occupancy rate of any major U.S. travel market in 2020. During the Covid-19 pandemic, visitors preferred smaller cities and warmer climates that are more conducive to social distancing.

The new hotel boasts 519 guest rooms along with two restaurants and a variety of other features, such as a floating-glass meeting room, rooftop bar, pools, and large event spaces.
The hotel temporarily converted it’s fourth-floor ballrooms into custom training spaces for the visiting Toronto Raptors NBA team to practice for games at neighboring Amalie Arena.
