Tampa's Downtown Debriefing Series returns this week

Join us on April 7th at the Hyatt Place in Downtown Tampa for the first in-person Downtown Debriefing of 2022!

 

As we approach the two-year mark, we will hear from leading industry experts from Cushman Wakefield, Fisher Phillips, and Port Tampa Bay on the effects the global COVID-19 pandemic has had on Tampa’s Downtown and the region. The panelists will discuss and share insight on opportunities and challenges for the business community in 2022 and beyond.

Tampa Bay added nearly 1 million square feet of office space in 2021

The Tampa Bay area saw nearly 1 million square feet of new office space delivered in 2021. This includes Thousand & One, a 20-story building in Water Street, which is the first new high-rise office building in Downtown Tampa in 30 years.

 

The office market in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties ended the year with a direct vacancy rate of 15.1% and a total vacancy rate of 18.2%, according to CBRE.

Tampa's Riverwalk west side expansion moving forward

The City of Tampa is moving forward with plans to add six more miles to Tampa’s Riverwalk and surrounding area to safely connect nearby neighborhoods west of downtown.

 

This summer, the city plans to select a contractor. Once the contractor has been chosen the design will begin in 2023 and the project will be substantially completed by the end of 2026.

The Mayor's Food Truck Fiesta returns this Wednesday!

Featuring tasty treats from a variety of local vendors, the Mayor’s Food Truck Fiesta occurs the first Wednesday of every month in The Square at Lykes Gaslight Park from 11am to 2pm. Click the link below to see this month’s participating food trucks.

City of Tampa embraces e-scooters

Three years into a pilot program that’s put 1,800 rentable scooters on the streets, Tampa is about to take it citywide while dealing with people dumping them on sidewalks – and in the river.

Tampa Bay Design Week 2022 happening through April 10th

Check out Tampa Bay Design Week, April 2nd – 10th! Featuring a Public Art Walking Tour in Tampa’s Downtown, this walk will include gorgeous sculptures, a colorful mosaic installation, and even a bat house that enhances the experience of the riverfront. The event is free, so register today!
