TECO Line Streetcar breaks all-time monthly ridership record

The streetcar hit an all-time record in March 2022 with nearly 108,000 reported trips. The previous record was about 101,000 in December 2021, according to the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority. The streetcar began operating in 2002.

For Tampa street artist (and Jimmy John’s delivery guy), Downtown’s a canvas

Glen Baham’s abstract art is hot, selling at a Tampa kava bar and around the city.

 

“By day, he’s one of those fast-cycling Jimmy John’s sandwich delivery riders that have become part of the downtown landscape. He’s also a BMX bike enthusiast and skatepark devotee. But after work, he has become this mad-hot local artist, creating pieces outside the kava bar on Franklin and Twiggs streets and sometimes hawking his paintings to Downtown businesses.”

Multicultural Family Day planned for Water Works Parks

On Sunday, May 1st, visit the Multicultural Family Day event from 1-6pm in Water Works Park in Tampa Heights. Multicultural Family Day is an international celebration of the colors of the world with cultures represented in food, music, dance, and storytelling.

Tampa's Downtown Eggsploration a success

On Saturday, the Tampa Downtown Partnership hosted the biggest egg hunt in Downtown Tampa at Julian B. Lane Park. Eggsploration had roughly 40,000 eggs scattered throughout the park. The inaugural event welcomed crowds of people, with thousands participating in the scavenger hunt and redeeming their prizes.
