In our first-ever REWIND Rave-Along series, we’re mixing things up. Tampa Theatre is not going to enforce our normal rules on sitting down and being quiet during these screenings. Instead, we’re having a party! Get ready to get up out of your seat and dance, make some noise during the songs, enjoy pre-show music by DJ Rich Ranck, feel free to come dressed in costume, and enjoy some other fun surprises we have planned for these events — and be aware that the rest of the audience will be, too!

Sophie Sheridan (Amanda Seyfried) lives with her mother Donna (Meryl Streep), hotelier and former lead singer of Donna and the Dynamos, on an idyllic Greek island. Twenty years old and soon to be married, she has only one wish — for her father to walk her down the aisle. But she doesn’t know who her father is. Finding her mother’s diary from the year she was born, Sophie decides to invite three possible dads, assuming she’ll be able to somehow recognize the genuine article when he shows up: architect Sam Carmichael (Pierce Brosnan), banker Harry Bright (Colin Firth) and sailor Bill Anderson (Stellan Skarsgård), none of whom Donna has seen in two decades … and none of whom Donna is expecting to attend her daughter’s wedding.

Also starring Christine Baranski, Dame Julie Walters and a whole raft of ABBA songs, Mamma Mia! represents the new ideal of the jukebox musical: a fun and breezy plot, an unbelievable cast, and a killer soundtrack of the greatest hits of a genre-defining band.
