The 2026 Gasparilla Music Festival, presented by Water Street Tampa, returns April 10–12 at its new downtown home, Meridian Fields. Headliners Mt. The Youth Council’s Young Director’s Film Festival highlights the creative talents of high school students from across the Tampa Bay Area, providing them with a unique platform to showcase their films. Selected submissions will be featured at the prestigious Tampa Museum of Art and broadcast on the Tampa Bay Arts and Education Network (TBAE)—Tampa’s premier local source for culture, education, and the arts—offering filmmakers an incredible opportunity to reach a wider audience.

Comedian Demetri Martin may be best known for his stand-up work, but he’s also a screenwriter/director/actor (2016’s Dean), an essayist (This Is a Book) and a cartoonist (collected in the books Point Your Face at This and If It’s Not Funny It’s Art). He often incorporates music and drawing into his stand-up, and his humor is some of the best of the offbeat variety since Steven Wright.

If your company hasn't registered a team to participate in this amazing event, we hope you join the Tampa Downtown Partnership team to help remove debris and litter from our local waters. (Last year, Port Tampa Bay had over 800 volunteers who removed 90,000 lbs of litter and debris!)

Remix is a series of make-and-take art workshops for adults inspired by the Museum’s current exhibitions with a new project every month. This month's project will be inspired by our The Etruscans exhibition. Paint and decorate your own personal box, similar to the detailed ash boxes of the Etruscans! Ages 18+  *Workshops are designed to be enjoyed by participants of any skill level, and all materials are provided.

Chris Tucker’s breakthrough as a stand-up comedian on Def Comedy Jam back in 1992 led to a steady string of movie roles in “Friday,” “Dead Presidents” and “Jackie Brown,” among others. His commercial peak came with 1998’s “Rush Hour” and its two sequels, which paired Tucker and Jackie Chan as mismatched buddy cops. In recent years he’s focused more on stand-up, and his upcoming tour will bring him to Tampa.
