Color Map Printing in 19th Century America Matthew Edney, Ph.D., is this year’s speaker for the annual Nell Ward Lecture on Cartography. Dr. Edney’s talk will showcase dozens of maps explaining the basic techniques for how they were printed and colored in the mid-1600s and how that technology advanced through the 19th century.
