The International Council of Museums (ICOM) established International Museum Day in 1977 to increase public awareness of the role of museums in the development of society and it has been steadily gaining momentum ever since.

The theme of this year’s International Museum Day : Museums for Education and Research. We are proud to be a museum offering our community year-round resources for education and research. From our studio classes to our lectures and tours Tampa Museum of Art will always be a place where knowledge is shared.
