Personal finance guru, best-selling author, and award-winning TV host Suze Orman will receive the 2019 Helen Gordon Davis Women’s Leadership Award at the 2019 Waves of Change Luncheon on Friday, March 29th, at the Tampa Marriott Waterside.
Orman made her mark in the financial services industry and helped to introduce women to financial strategies through her New York Times bestselling books and The Suze Orman Show which earned her multiple Emmy and Gracie awards. Orman also writes a financial advice column for O, The Oprah Magazine. She is the former author of Yahoo!’s “Money Matters” and has written for the Costco Connection Magazine. She contributes to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Lowes Money Works, and Your Business at Home Magazine.
Tampa Business Leader and Philanthropist Paddy Moses will receive this year’s WAVES award which honors a local leader for her work in the community. Paddy is the former CEO/Owner of Norrell Temporary Services and a former executive with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay.
She serves as Chair of the Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, is the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Liaison to MacDill Air Force Base, and Chair of the Private Industry Council, Tampa Bay.
Amanda Stevens, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating and Strategy Officer at Raymond James Bank, is this year’s honorary chair. She is Vice President of the Centre for Women Board and a member of the League of Extraordinary Women.
Kelly McBride, Vice President of the Poynter Institute and one of the leading voices on media ethics, will reprise her role in leading an onstage community conversation with Orman. Laura Moody, Fox 13’s News Morning Anchor of Good Day Tampa Bay will emcee the luncheon.
