Kalyn Sexton has been with the Tampa Downtown Partnership for 11 years and currently serves as Assistant Project Manager for the Operations team. Previously, she held the role of Guide. In her current position, Kalyn plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring Downtown operations run smoothly each day.

Kalyn supports the Clean & Safe team by reporting code and safety issues to the City, managing supply inventory and ordering, and ensuring Ambassadors are properly uniformed and fully equipped before heading into the field. She coordinates team communications by answering phone calls, conducting radio reports, and troubleshooting radio and iPad issues. Kalyn also gathers and organizes event information for a Downtown merchant calendar distributed by the Ambassadors. Additional responsibilities include providing roadside assistance, completing Ginkgo reports, and occasionally assisting with Downtown parking inventory.

Within the Operations Office, Kalyn helps keep everything running efficiently by stocking and maintaining the workspace, setting up for meetings, trainings, and events, handling laundry, performing minor repairs, and coordinating with vendors for maintenance or larger repairs as needed. Her reliability, organization, and attention to detail help ensure both the Operations team and the Downtown environment are consistently well supported.

In recognition of her dedication and excellence, Kalyn was awarded the Bern Laxer Award of Excellence in 2018 and was selected as a Visit Tampa Bay Memory Maker. She is a 2005 graduate of Chamberlain High School.

Outside of work, Kalyn is actively involved in the Tampa Bay community. She volunteers with organizations such as Metropolitan Ministries and the Salvation Army, serves as a Girl Scout leader and member of her service unit team, and leads a table for a women’s ministry called Beautiful at Grace Family Church. In her free time, Kalyn enjoys reading, writing, and spending quality time with her family.
