Kenyetta Bridges, Downtown Growth Veteran, Named Tampa Downtown Partnership President and CEO

Bringing a track record of strategically taking on the challenges facing modern cities, spurring smart Downtown growth, and collaborating with stakeholders across communities, Kenyetta Bridges has been named President and CEO of the Tampa Downtown Partnership.

 

“Downtown Tampa is alive with energy and opportunity,” said Bridges, who will begin her new role on July 1, 2024. “I’m excited to join the leading edge of the wave of positive momentum that has brought Tampa’s Downtown and the region into the national and international spotlight as one of the best places in America to live, work, and play.”

Join us at Central Park Eats & Beats tomorrow at the St. James Church in ENCORE! from 5:00pm – 8:00pm as Instruments 4 Life pops up with an all-star lineup of Tampa musicians and special guests who will share stories about Central Park’s musical heyday and pay tribute to the neighborhood’s rich musical history!

 

This incredible workshop series will appear at Central Park Eats on May 21, June 18, and July 16 in an effort to showcase a new FREE music program for the youth of Downtown’s Central Park neighborhood. Joining us also is the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA who will be providing children’s activities!

Spend Memorial Day Weekend at Downtown's Uptown Music & Arts Festival!

Head to Downtown’s Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park this weekend for the Uptown Music & Arts Festival! On Saturday and Sunday, UEG Productions will be bringing this premier cultural event to Tampa’s Downtown, featuring world-class performances by contemporary jazz and R&B musicians, along with renown visual artists!

 

Saturday & Sunday Hours: Gates open at 2:30pm, and the festival will run from 4:00pm – 10:00pm

PPK has announced the release of their very first children's book!

In honor of Get Caught Reading Month, Downtown advertising agency PPK has announced the release of their first-ever children’s book, “Clarence the Cloud!” Written by Creative Director Nick McMurdy alongside Art Director/Illustrator, Alan Schneller, 100% of the proceeds from this children’s tale will go towards the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation!

Could you win the Apple Pie Throwdown at Boom by the Bay this year?

On Thursday, July 4, 2024 the first Annual Apple Pie Throwdown will be held during Boom by the Bay! This signature event is presented by the Tampa Downtown Partnership in conjunction with the City of Tampa and Mayor Jane Castor.

 

This year’s event will offer an apple pie tasting zone with a unique take on this classic American dish. Participating vendors will be entered into an on-site competition with a Judges Choice and People’s Choice Award. Apply today and see if you will take home the gold on America’s birthday!

The Tampa Downtown Partnership is calling all incoming or recently graduated high school seniors to consider applying for our Summer Internship Program! This program presents a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in urban planning and public service through projects that aid in the cleanliness and efficiency of Tampa’s Downtown!

 

NOTE: Applications will be accepted through Friday, May 10

 

Requirements:

  • Must be an incoming high school senior or recently graduated high school senior, not enrolled in a four-year educational institution
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Comfortable working outside in an urban environment
