The Tampa Downtown Partnership wishes you a Happy New Year as we say goodbye to 2022 and welcome in 2023. The Partnership offices will be closed January 2 in observance of the holiday.
Winter Village is open during the school winter break with extended hours of fun activities for the whole family. Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park is also open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

“When they had their Stanley Cup parade and their Super Bowl parade, they were on the river, it basically converted their river into their main street,” said Nashville Downtown Partnership President and CEO Tom Turner.
“So, seeing the possibilities there and the amount of development that took place, even with the obstacles of having so many individual property owners, it’s really, totally put Tampa in a different direction. And so they seemed like a great example for us.”

At a meeting of the Port Tampa Bay’s governing board last Tuesday, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor took up a subject that’s the talk of Downtown boosters:
Opening the space behind cruise ship Terminal 2 as an extension of the city’s popular Riverwalk.
“I think the more we make that (waterfront) available to the community, the better we are as a city as we grow,” said the mayor.
