Tampa Bay area teachers and the public are invited to visit the Henry B. Plant Museum as we prepare for another exciting school year. To honor their dedication to educating our youth, from 10 am – 5 pm on Saturday, August 3, admission is FREE for teachers and their families with their school ID. Teachers can explore the Museum at their leisure, learn about educational Field Trip from our Curator of Education who will be in the Museum all day, and enjoy our in-depth, self-guided audio tour. Teachers may also view the award-winning, 14-minute historical video The Tampa Bay Hotel: Florida’s First Magic Kingdom and investigate our current exhibit Henry Plant: He’s More Important Than You Thought.
Foreign language teachers may be interested in exploring our audio wand tour in Spanish, and our orientation video The Tampa Bay Hotel: Florida’s First Magic Kingdom with Spanish, French and German subtitles. These resources can easily be used as language-learning tools.
To help support students in need in our local community, the public is encouraged to bring new school supplies on August 3. We are proud to be working with Joshua House to provide school supplies for foster children residing there. All visitors who bring a school supply will receive discounted admission to the Museum and only pay our field trip rate of $3 per person.
