Carolina Chocolate Drops frontwoman and 2017 winner of the MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship Rhiannon Giddens returns for a brand-new solo tour of her upcoming album. Giddens’ heroic interpretations of African-American folk music and spine-tingling songs that give voice to people previously lost to history catapulted her to anointed status with troubadours such as Odetta, Nina Simone and Bob Dylan. A fierce spirit and phenomenal storyteller, Giddens plays multiple instruments to accompany her bold, can-do-anything voice. Americana roots band Dead Horses opens.
