Chucho Valdés is a master of Afro-Cuban jazz. Over a six-decade long career, the Cuban pianist, composer and arranger has kept the flame burning for the genre, while also constantly pushing its boundaries. He is perhaps best known as the founder of Irakere, a groundbreaking ensemble of musicians and one of the most revered groups in Cuban music history.
