Event Details

The first written mention of a Christmas tree dates from 1561 when the citizens of Alsace were forbidden to have “for Christmas more than one bush of more than eight shoes’ length.” How did that evolve into today’s much-loved tradition of decorated holiday trees? Learn the story behind this and other myths surrounding the evolution of Christmas tree ornaments, lights, and traditions.   3 pm in the Music Room, Dec. 9th  Free for Museum members and $10 for non-members.  Book signing will follow.
