Downtown Workforce Residential Study

Beginning in 2008, the Tampa Downtown Partnership has called upon a third-party research group to conduct biennial studies of Downtown Tampa residents and workers. Feedback provided by these studies helped steer such game changing initiatives in downtown such as river accessibility, the outdoor market, the Glazer Children’s Museum, the Tampa Bay History Center, extended streetcar line, reopening of Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, the addition of dog parks, new parking meters that accept credit cards, new directional signage, new restaurants and retail, and extended retail operating hours.

And now, the latest report has been released in February 2013, showing significant changes in the perception and trends of Downtown Tampa residents and workers.  The survey results showed a more stable residential base (increases to 35 to 54 year old group, and  $100K to $150K household income category); growth in worker and resident satisfaction; market penetration exceeding demand; and lifestyle amenities opportunities.

Thank you to all who participated in these surveys!  All three reports and the 2008 University of Tampa Study are available for your review:
